English Captain Joe Root is tipped to be one of all-time great English batsmen. He started his career with Alistair Cook ( yet another English batting great) was operating at his peak. He had immediate big bang start to his career in his initial year of international cricket. He has 20 centuries under his belt. However the below visual will show you something very distinct that his record at home post captaincy has been on the decline (post 2017). This is strange because his performances outside England have continued to remain quite solid with an average around 50.
